For Sale: 1957 Jaguar XK 140 Drophead Coupe - An Authentic Masterpiece of the 1950s

We are delighted to present this exceptional 1957 Jaguar XK 140 Drophead Coupe (DHC), a jewel from the golden 1950s that has always made car lovers' hearts beat faster.

The XK 140 is more than just a car - it is a true classic, a shining jewel for any lover of British automobiles.

Introduced in late autumn 1954 as a further development of the legendary XK 120, subtle visual changes were implemented. Most obvious were the larger bumpers with bumper-horns, indicators above the front bumpers and a modified radiator grille design. The Jaguar lettering was proudly inserted into the radiator grille surround. A chrome strip ran down the centre of the bonnet and boot lid and the "Winner Le Mans 1951-3" emblem was emblazoned at the rear.
Inside, taller drivers in particular benefit from 3 inches (approx. 76 mm) more legroom as the engine, firewall and dashboard have been moved forward. Our offered Drophead Coupe is equipped with a single 12-volt battery placed on the passenger side in the front wing.
The XK 140 is powered by a 3.4-litre Jaguar XK inline-six with double overhead camshaft, which, thanks to special equipment modifications, achieves an output of 190 hp (142 kW) at 5500 rpm.

The 1957 XK 140 DHC in question, has been carefully restored over the years by Jaguar specialists and is in excellent condition. The current owner has made significant investments to bring this vehicle to the best possible running condition. Full details of the work carried out and the associated costs can be viewed if interested.

Of particular note is that the engine and transmission of this XK 140 Drophead Coupe have been extensively overhauled in 2020. Despite only a few miles driven in the interim, the car has been serviced and maintained annually to maintain its top condition.
